Lately Ive been busy over the last week or so finishing my recycled egg sculpture. When I did it the first time for the school exhibition it wasn’t finished, the part that was on the floor had no pieces of computer motherboards on it. Well I have spent the last few weeks getting some more computers from the recycling man, taking all the motherboards out of their cases and stripping them down, then cutting them up into squares with my tile cutter. I have pasted them on and now the whole egg is covered. Im coating over the lot with polyurethane to give it a shine and help keep the pieces melded together. Its looking really good now. I learnt a lot about working with polyurethane and computer parts while I was doing this one.

On Saturday Im going to enter it into the local A & P show. That should be a real giggle. They have a craft and hobby section along with the dahlia, preserves, cakes, sewing, embroidery etc sections. In the craft and hobby section is a class called “a recycled article” I thought it would be fun to put a big spacey looking egg shape in the same room with the pickles and jams etc…. should look a hoot. Rotflmao. It costs a whole 50c to enter and If I win I get $5.00 prize money hahhahaha. That should be a blast. I will post a photo of my new rennovated egg and let you all know if I get anywhere at the A & P show…
In the meantime here is a coup

The Washing Line
Well here is a photo of my painting I have just done that was inspired by Salvador Dali. Of course its nothing like his and the composition is shot, but still I’m fairly happy with it. I really should have left the mirror out and moved some of the images around the frame in a more balanced manner. Still its not too bad. I think Ill have a go at doing another one. I really enjoyed the process and liked painting the bubbles best of all
As you can see its still attached to the board. Im waiting for it to completely dry.

Did some more work on my painting today. I’m really loving the detail and the way I have been able to manipulate the paint to get the techniques I want to. Only thing is I’m still having trouble with my composition. Its just not jelling right. Oh well I guess Ill just finish it and do another one where I actually plan out where I want what and maybe it will come out better.Ill put a progress photo up tomorrow.
Stopped by Zohan Gallary at the mount today to check out Michelles painting it looks absolutely fantastic. All lite up and looking so professional. Im green with envy….

Well stuck at home again. I really must stop mucking around on this computer and get out and look for a job. Or I suppose I could go and do some clay. Or maybe even tackle a painting. I really have no excuse just like I have no motivation. Woe is me. Great this is sounding really depressing, have to get off my but and go and do something. Ill try hanging out some washing and then I might feel like Ive actually done something. Then Im going to try a Salvador Dali inspired painting to do with washing I think. Yeh that sounds like fun. Im already feeling better, seee. ya just got to get off the old jacksee and do something. Thats the ticket my old poppa would say. Ill drop back with a photo. I promise even if it doesn’t come out like I see it in my head…… (ongoing problem with me…).
